On the way to Hoodsport...

We decided Hoodsport was an easy day's drive and looked interesting .  The Hood Canal runs along the highway 101, towards Olympia.  The Dabob Bay connects to the north end of the Canal and was absolutely crystal clear and beautiful. We couldn't resist stopping along the way.

Once we got to the campground, we realized the beach was covered in shells.  Oyster shells!  The owner said we could help ourselves, only we didn't have a fishing license and no equipment to shuck.  So he had his helper run across the highway, fill up two bags, and gave them to us.  Ron was in heaven, he grilled ate them all!  Another unexpected stop with the nicest people and great little camp.

The azaleas are everywhere, different colors and all in bloom, gorgeous

People shucking the oysters right on the beach.

ok, we will

Happy as a clam...(ugh that was a bad joke)

From grill to mouth in seconds...
